Sambar Recipe - How to make sambar hotel style at home in telugu By Latha Channel

How to cook Sambar.
Ingredients:
·        
Toor dal – ½ cup
·        
Tamarind pulp - 1/2 cup
·        
Oil - 1/4 Cup
·        
Tomato (Chopped) – 2
·        
Green Chilli (chopped) slit – 4
·        
Carrot (chopped) – 1
·        
Onion ( Chopped ) - 1 cup
·        
Fresh fenugreek leaves (cleaned and
chopped) - 1/4 cup
·        
Curry leaves - 3 sprigs
·        
Sambar powder – 2 table spoons
·        
Jaggery – 1 teaspoon
·        
Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
·        
Salt to taste ( 2 teaspoons )
·        
Cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon
·        
Mustard seeds – ½ teaspoon
·        
Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Method:
01.  Take
a Cooker, add Toor dal and pour some water and wash well.
02.   Now 
pour 3 cups of water and close the lid, place on the flame and cook
under pressure till 3 whistles are given out, and keep aside.
03.  Place
a pan on the flame, add tamarind pulp, salt, sambar powder, turmeric powder,
tomato, green chilli, onion, carrot and fresh methi leaves.
04.  pour
4 cups of water, add red chilli powder and stir well.
05.  Add
Curry leaves and bring it to boil for 2 to 3 minutes.
06.  Add
cooked dal, stir well, Add Jaggery or salt as your like, Salt to taste, stir
well, bring it to boil for 5 minutes and turn off the flame.
07.  Heat
a small pan and add tablespoon of oil, Add cumin and mustard seeds, cook till
the cumin, mustard seeds become light brown and splutter.


08.  switch
off the flame and dunk instantly into the cooked sambar.  Stir and serve hot.
